What is important here – weapon supported attack types, attack speed, attack bonuses and strength bonuses. I pay attention to weight only if I am running low on energy. Most time I don’t need to do this, and weapon weight can be compensated by dropping some useless items from inventory.

I left myself with fractite spear as binded item for now, because it supports all attack types, has good strength bonus, and the speed is okay for me at the moment.

Last point I want to mention, is to consider to make fractite gauntlets and boots. I do so in every raid. Weapon, gauntlets and boots is my fav set up until boss room.

I am not a pro in this skill, my dungeoneering level is only 37 so far, my ‘goal’ for now is to reach level 45 so I can access Mining guild’s hidden mine. I am not considering runite mining there, I just want to see how the cave looks like – these resource dungeons are made really nicely. And yes, I am not going to spoil the fun of it on this blog, it is just 60 Mining and 45 Dungeoneering.

First, I had this setup with Amulet of Strength:

I killed 148 Giant Spiders and was counting everytime how much hits I need to inflict on them to make them die.  Average hit count was 6.84, in other words, I need 6.84 hits to kill one Giant Spider with Amulet of Strength.

Next, I changed it to Amulet of Power:

I killed 155 Giant Spiders this time and average hit count was 6.58, in other words, I need 6.58 hits to kill one Giant Spider with Amulet of Power.

First impression -  not a big deal.  To kill 100 spiders with Amulet of Strength I need 684 hits, and to kill 100 spiders with Amulet of Power I need 658 hits. That’s 26 hits less, or ~4 spiders (800xp) more.

But let’s look at  it in  future perspective.  Let’s say I want to train strength from level 70 to level 99 on Giant Spiders.

Needed xp is 12,296,804. One Giant Spider gives 200 str xp. That’s 61,484 spiders to go. Required hits with Amulet of Strength is 420,551, and with Amulet of Power 404,565. The difference is … 15,986 hits. That is … 2337 more spiders if wearing Amulet of Strength! Normally, F2P training on Giant Spiders yields ~45k xp per hour. So this is it. The final answer, 10 hours more time is needed to get 99 Strenght from 70 wearing Amulet of Strength instead of Amulet of Power. Do you thing this is significant? I have nothing against miners. I am a miner myself. But I just had enough of this, so i gonna do mining only then needed and not train it on coalz anymore.

This is the biggest def bonus in f2p. Rune berserker shield(100) and Rune gauntlets adds much to it. And this is so-called tank in the team available on f2p worlds. But where such “tank” could be used, on what monsters? I don’t like fighting revenants, I don’t like going to high wilderness to fight greater demons, so where the high level team on f2p could possibly go? The answer on my side is still unknown. I’d like high level monsters (>100 cmb) with much Lifepoints available on f2p one day. Maybe I want too much. I would like rune boots to be free item also. That would make a full set of Rune armour, as there’s no point of them in members’ worlds.

Noobs aren’t that bad ppl as these keyboard cowboys.

Recently Jagex implemented an update which altered the way in which we play Runescape. What has been changed:

1. Hitpoints Skill renamed to Constitution.

2. Hitpoints (HP) renamed to Lifepoints.

3. All damage player can inflict increased 10x.

4. All damage player can take increased 10x.

5. All healining items now heals 10x.

If you don’t want to read all that, I can summarize it:

1. New players were hitting a lot of 0′s and that is boring. With this update new players can hit small amounts of damage without seeing so many 0′s.

2. The name of the skill was changed due to many MMORPG’s has the same hitpoints skill. Also, Jagex wanted to separate the Skill and the Hitpoints, so players won’t confuse. Now one Constitution level increases your Lifepoints by 10. At Constitution 99, you can have a maximum of 990 Lifepoints.

3. Constitution skill can now be used in quests and skill updates, because skill remains then you fight, damage affects your Lifepoints. This change allows to add potions to increase player’s Lifepoints. It opens up new design opportunities that previously were unavailable.

My viewpoint about the update

The first impression was of a kind of  “omg”, how good the update is, the new era of gameplay – modern Runescape, not that much frustrating, more interesting while in combat. Huge damage splats. I definitely thought it was a success from the first moment.

Later, it started to become confusing. Not absolutely necessary, “the thing that was fixed even it was not broken”. I went to PvP worlds and died three times in a row just being not capable to do maths. Then I pk, I wanna pk and I don’t want to add-up numbers then I simply don’t have time for this. Then doing a good pk, you have to be in 1 hp presicion if you are to win. I can’t add-up big numbers in 10 milliseconds or even less than deciding to eat or not. I had a conversation with old friend who spent most of his time pk’ing. He said I use hp bar for this now and don’t look at numbers. Oh, come on. I don’t like that at all. I can’t say if there’s enough bar left for the opponents highest hit.

After that, I tried to look at the update from the future point. If I can do 20 hp damage in F2P with Rune scimitar, now it is 200 lp. The past system had a hidden motivation for leveling up your combat skills. If I could do 25 hp damage, that would be a big deal. And today, I don’t see the point to increase my combat skills, because hitting 200 lp or 250 lp sounds pretty much the same.

The Hitpoints now has a presicion of one decimal. If you take a damage less than 10, you get a decimal damage. Why would I ever need this? I can’t see the point here. 99 hp system was unique, reliable and comfortable for daily use. I don’t know why it is 99 and not 100 (like all skills), but it was just okay. Summing all the things up, I do not support the change. I like it in some aspects, but the drawbacks are just too big to accept it.

And again, I am not gonna go to forums and say you are fools, Jagex. I am not gonna leave the game or take a protest petition or smth. I can play the game with the new system, but it becomes a headache in pk.
